New p53 Isoform in Glioblastoma Cells

Mini-p53 isoform (MPI), recently identified in our lab, is the smallest p53 isoform identified so far and it may influence p53’s role on several aspects of cellular and organismal function. We have now gathered evidence of the expression of this isoform in various cancer cell lines. We also found that in Glioblastoma cell lines MPI is regulated via DNA damage. Lastly, we observed that overexpressing MPI leads to an increase in the number of senescent cells.
